FIRST ON FIRST - WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING, THESE SKIERS BECAME FISCHER’S NEW TEAM RIDERS
Taking the very first lift on New Year’s Day takes a special kind of commitment. For Fischer, it was the perfect time and place to reward those who share their dedication and attitude. That’s how dozens of ordinary skiers from all over the world, much to their surprise, found themselves joining the Fischer Team that very morning.
At eight o’clock in the morning the day after New Year’s Eve, most people are still enjoying the soft comfort of their pillow. But for this group of passionate skiers it was all about waking up early and getting ready, with one thought in mind: Being 2019’s first skiers up at the lift station and making the first tracks on untouched slopes.
What they didn’t expect when they arrived at the lift station was to be greeted by the Fischer Team, who had one important question: ”How would you feel about becoming team riders for Fischer?”
As a company, Fischer has always been on the more serious side, building serious skis for serious skiers. And while they’ll keep doing exactly that, this initiative opens up a whole new approach: Now it’s not only about your abilities as a skier, but also your attitude towards skiing. Fischer wants to acknowledge the sacrifices you make to get in that perfect run, or to make that first track.
On January 1st, 2019, dozens of Fischer skiers worldwide were celebrated for their commitment. Two locations in Canada (Mont Sutton, QC and Whitewater, BC) handed out new pairs of Fischer skis of their choice when exiting the lift, prepped for them on the way up, so they didn’t lose one second of early morning skiing. And as the newest members of the Fischer team, 2019 has a lot more in store for them.
